Profile Information

Introduce yourself
I'm Karen Bryan and I set up the Europe a la Carte Euravelers network In July 2008 to create a virtual meeting place for Euravlers, travelers who revel in discovering the real Europe.

I started my travel site, Europe a la Carte, in 2002. I wanted to highlight just how much there is to do and see in Europe, apart from the well known tourist attractions. I can't do this on my own, so I want to invite other euravelers to join the network and make euraveling better for everyone.

Discovering Bosnia and Herzegovina

I wrote a post yesterday for Top Travel Content Europe about rebranding the city of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The idea for the post came from a submission to Readers Pick about the writers visit to the city. I felt a bit guilty afterward that I'd mainly written about the 1990s war torn images that spring to my mind as soon as I hear the word Sarajevo. What the area needs is a st… Continue

Zadar and Istria in Croatia - well worth visiting

I was fortunate to visit Croatia twice during April 2009.

At the beginning of April I was on the inaugural Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Adriatic coastal city of Zadar. My two favourite things in Zada city were the Sea Organ, where the music is played by the movement of the sea water and wind and the… Continue

I'll now be approving new members

My apologies to Euravelers whio've beem spammed through the network by a supposed new member (who have now been banned). After this annoying incident I''ll now be approving new members which I did consider doing intially but thought it might deter genuine new members from joining.

Are members going to add any content?

I'm trying my best to add some content to the Euravelers network but between the day job, the Europe a la Carte blog and writing for Wandalust blog I don't have much time left. I know we'd all like lots of great tips and advice for our travels but we all have to give some too.

So Euravelers can you please try to make some comments, start a group, add photos etc?

Euravelers.com domain

I decided that I should use my own domain name for the Euravelers network to make it a more memorable url than using a Ning ( the company who provide the social network framework) sub domain. I discussed it with my IT consultant, our son, a computing student and he thought that it was a good idea to use the Euravelers domain to build up the brand. I even managed to follow the instructions and set up the redirect to Ning from the Euravlers domain with my web host.
